  • Treatment and rehabilitation of severe orthopedic injuries and multi-trauma,  neurodegenerative diseases, stroke, amputation, and deconditioning due to prolonged hospital stay
  • Acute and chronic neck/back pain with a focus on behavioral approaches and exercise.
  • Management of insomnia with focus on sleep habits, stress management and behavior.
  • Neuropathy and treatment of nerve pain.
  • Management of Spasticity (involuntary muscle contraction) including exercise, medications, Botox injection and Intrathecal Baclofen Pump management.
  • Disability adjustment and empowerment with focus on patient and family education.

A Boston College and Columbia University College of physicians and Surgeons graduate, Dr. DeMayo brings with him more than 30 years of physiatry experience including numerous leadership roles as Medical and Clinical Director for specialty Neuro and Spinal specialty centers in the United Stated such as the Veterans Brain Injury Center, the Conemaugh Health System Neuroscience Center and Blue Cross Schield facilities.

In addition to his longstanding rehabilitation experience, Dr. DeMayo has lectured and instructed in leading academic institutions such as Yale School of Medicine and the College of Physicians and Surgeons at Columbia University in the USA. Furthermore, he is the recipient of multiple honors and awards from the likes of Boston University and Professional Rehabilitation Associations and is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
